Cell phone battles aren’t new. After all, look at the battles between the iPhone and the Blackberry, and then the iPhone and Blackberry against the Android platform as a whole. Cell phone wars will always be there, but some tech fans find them more amusing than anything else.

So, the new tech battle is a matter of getting specific with cell phone: does the Samsung Galaxy S really beat the iPhone in terms of picture quality? Well, there’s an easy way to find out if that’s really the case.

First, a little bit of background. The Apple iPhone 4 is the newest generation in the iPhone series. It brings a lot of features to the table, such as a larger screen and plenty of on-board memory to be had. There’s plenty of space on the phone to hold pictures, music, and video, which are must haves for anyone that’s on the go.

In the other corner we have the Samsung Galaxy S, which is also a great phone with a long list of features. Samsung has been quick to get on the Android bandwagon, because it’s become quite profitable to do so. Consumers are looking for phones that allow them to do more than use the phone as an expensive paperweight, so that means that Samsung has to step up to the plate and really make sure that they have a winning combination.

The Galaxy S has a very nice Super AMOLED display as well as a 1 GHz processor. The phone design does make it look very iPhone-ish, but it’s all about the technical specs.

There are plenty — a 4 inch screen, at 800×480 resolution. According to in the wild reviews, users report that the colors are very, very rich and happily saturated. The brightness is also stellar, which is something that people demand out of a phone these days.

However, does this line up with beating the iPhone 4 at a game that Apple knows it has to win in order to stay on top?

The answer might actually be in Apple’s favor, looking at the iPhone 4. The screen is 3.5 inches, which is smaller than the Galaxy S, but it has a bigger resolution at 960×640. The colors are definitely vibrant, which could definitely give the Galaxy a run for its money.

However, who really wins? The iPhone 4 is on its own development cycle, which means that the Galaxy S could pick up new features to use with that extra half-inch larger screen space. If screen size is more important to you than anything else, you may still want to go with the Galaxy S. However, if you’re thinking about sticking with Apple on the iPhone, it’s not necessary a bad choice. As always, it’s up to you to decide for yourself what device will be the best for your needs.

We all know that the Nexus One has finally arrived. We also know that this is the first Google branded smart phone in history, and the tension has been thick as the world awaits this piece of technological cake from a company that has been building a presence in the mobile phone industry with its open-sourced platform, Google Android.

But the real question is not whether the Nexus One will be successful, but whether it will actually compete with the iPhone? Well, there are a lot of things to consider, but here is what we know. First of all, we know that the iPhone comes from a company who knows mobile phones very well. Apple knows exactly what it is doing, and they have been putting out high-quality handsets now for years. Second, Google is up and coming in the field, not having the experience that Apple has.

But, Google has one thing working for it that could turn the tide… and that is Android. Android has been so successful that it has threatened the very life of Windows Mobile, and it has been a rising insect to iPhone ever since it has come to life. But can Google actually compete with one of the most popular Mobile devices on the market with the Nexus One? It is true that the world is waiting to see, but when it really comes down to it, what would motivate buyers to choose the Nexus One over the iPhone?

Well, for one, the Nexus One will sell for a scant $180 with a two year agreement. Now, that is pretty darn cheap for a smart phone as advanced as the Nexus One! But will it be cheap enough to actually turn consumer heads?

The world just may not be ready for a smart phone like the Nexus One. Perhaps Google is going to end up like most other mobile phone makers. Playing second fiddle to a giant in the industry who cannot be toppled. But then again, maybe the world is growing tired of the iPhone, and growing more and more curious about this Android platform that everyone is talking about. Well, if they want Android, then the Nexus One is going to be a prime candidate.

Iphones have become very popular these days. The features are amazing. The younger generation is very much keen to personalize the mobile with a customized iphone ringtone. There are many websites available where you can download music you like and thanks to the converters available in the market, you can make ringtones from basically any audio file.

There are so many websites available which allows you to create a customized ringtone. Just make a free sign up and then upload your desired mp3 song. You will have a time period to select a portion of the song. This part of the song will be your caller tune. Now it has to be converted into an iphone format. There will be obvious buttons or links to be clicked anywhere on the page. On clicking, it will take few seconds to process and then a download button will appear which will say that your ringtone is ready.

On downloading it by a click, you can save it on your computer. Then use iTunes to transfer it to your iphone. Now open the iTunes program and open the folder to drag the specified ringtone that you have saved. Simply connect your iphone to transfer it.

Here are some of the basic steps on how to install ringtones in the iphone:

• Select the SETTINGS option which will have a picture of circular gears.

• Choose SOUNDS option and select which ringtone you want.

• Use the RING or SOUNDS check box and have a tick to select when you want to hear the ringtone sound. It can be set for an incoming call or text message and anything.

• If you wish to activate the vibrate option, go to SOUNDS and select VIBRATE option.

• You can turn off the ringer by the use of the switch on the side of the iphone.

The entire process is just simple and a basic 123 process. I hope the directions are given clearly to create and install the iphone ringtone.

While the industry puzzles over when Android-supported phones will hit shelves, it is unclear what impact, if any, it will have against growing iPhone adoption.Google-led Android doesn’t quite get the hype that Apple’s iPhone does, but there are plenty of reasons to get excited for it. For one, Android’s OS looks to offer a lot more than iPhone can with its latest release.

Here are five reasons to buy your loved one an Android-operated phone rather than an iPhone:

1. It promises to run on most modern smart phones – More cell networks will support Android than iPhone does — the iPhone is bound to just AT&T. Mobile providers NTT DoCoMo, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile and more have committed to the project. Also, more handsets will operate on it. You might even get more life out of your old phone if it supports it. Handset manufactures HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung have already signed on.

2. It’s open-source software – Any programmer can whip up some code to match popular features from any other phone. Under the Apache license, any programmer can take the code and port their own version of the OS.

3. It has support for Google products out of the box – The latest Android demonstration displayed the phone’s compass prominently in Google Maps. You can bet Google will have the latest and greatest features of their software running on Android before it hits other operators.

4. Third-party developers have more access – iPhone prohibits people from using its internet capabilities for things like VoIP or an alternative browser. Android’s API allows you to create an application for anything, even the dialing software. The evidence is in the 50 applications already developed for the Android Developer Challenge last May.5. Android allows for ‘unlocked’ phones – Most handsets in America, including the iPhone, are locked by software to a cell phone provider’s network. While there are various ways to jailbreak, it’s not easy and might break your terms of service. The availability of downloading and installing your own unlocked OS might just change the game in respect to shopping for mobile phone providers and signing contracts. If this method gets more popular, it is conceivable phone networks may drop the contracts in lieu of (better) European pre-pay pricing.

Apple proved when they launched the OS X powered iPhones, it isn’t just hardware that drives the killer mobile devices that change the industry. From what we can gather from Android, Google gets it too.

The Google-powered cell phone is coming soon, and it will retail for $199, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The price of the new Google (GOOG) smart phone would put the device head-to-head with Apple’s $199 iPhone (AAPL). The Google phone, which features a touchscreen and is made by Taiwanese manufacturer HTC, faces some stiff competition. The iPhone 3G has generated significant interest among consumers for redefining touch-screen technology, popularizing mobile applications and significantly improving Web navigation on cell phones.

T-Mobile (DT), the first carrier that will run Google’s Android mobile software, will show off the new phone to analysts and reporters on Tuesday in Manhattan. It is expected to hit stores later this fall.
Representatives from Google, HTC and T-Mobile would not comment on the Journal’s report.

Google unveiled features of the Android operating system on an unidentified black HTC handset at a developers conference in London on Wednesday.
The HTC phone is just the first of many Google-powered phones, according to the search giant. For Google to reach its ultimate goal – driving mobile Internet use and, in turn, ads – it will need to get multiple devices in the hands of mainstream consumers. The price will also need to be right, given that companies like Palm and Samsung already offer entry-level smartphones for $100.
